The Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Games will be
telecast nationally on the Seven Network and it is
anticipated that every houshold in Australia will be tuned in
to watch this much awaited spectacle, making it the highest
rating TV telecast in Australian television history! The
worldwide viewing audience of the Opening Ceremony is
estimated to be in excess of a staggering 3.6 billion people.
Sony Music & BMG have come together in a joint venture to
produce and market the album The Games of the XXVII
Olympiad, Official Music from The Opening Ceremony. This
is the only 'official' CD available featuring the music from the
Sydney 2000 Games.• The album features four major
songs: 'The Flame' performed by Tina Arena; 'Dare to
Dream', a duet by John Farnham and Olivia Newton John;
'Heroes Live Forever' performed by Vanessa Amorosi, and
Human Nature and Julie Anthony's rendition of 'Advance
Australia Fare'. The album also features highlights of the
incidental music from the Opening Ceremony including
Ferris, Paul Grabowsky, and the Sydney Symphony
Orchestra.
